At the time of the 2010 Census, Green Tree had a population of 4,432 people. This makes Green Tree the county's 36th most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Green Tree was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Green Tree post office opened in 1844.
