Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Birmingham had an population of 88 people. This is a decrease of 2.22% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 3.3% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Birmingham had a population of 90 people. This makes Birmingham the county's 17th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 90 people, the population of Birmingham decreased 1.1% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 91 people).

We originally found mention of Birmingham in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Birmingham was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Birmingham post office opened in 1817. The Birmingham post office closed in 1958.

In other words, it's how the residents of Birmingham refer to themselves. It's important to note that there aren't any rules for taking a community's name and turning it into a demonym. A demonym is informal and while the majority of Birmingham may use one name, keep in mind that others may use something different.
