So far, we found very little information about Wendling. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Wendling would have been located within present day Lane County<2>.


The location of Wendling has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Wendling, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1899.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Wendling is 630 feet [192 m] above sea level.<4>.

Time Zone: The area where Wendling was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Wendling still existed, it would have been in the (541) & (458)<5> area codes.

Adding Wendling to Our Gazetteer ...

We originally found mention of Wendling in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Wendling was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Wendling post office opened in 1899.

We also found Wendling mentioned on a train schedule titled Southern Pacific Railroad Time Tables (July 1929).
