Welcome to Sanger ...

So far, we found very little information about Sanger. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Sanger to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Sanger - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Sanger, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Sanger , we believe that it would have been located within present day Baker County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Sanger, you might consider that their post office opened in 1887.

Time Zone: The area where Sanger was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

Sanger would have been located in the (541) and (458)<3> area codes.

Communities Also Named Sanger ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Oregon communities named Sanger: This one is located in Baker County and the other is located in Union County.

Beyond Oregon, there are 6 communities that are also named Sanger - they are located in California, Illinois, North Dakota, Texas and West Virginia.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Sanger was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Sanger post office opened in 1887.
