Welcome to Promise ...So far, we found very little information about Promise. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Promise to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have a date for the founding of Promise, you might consider that their post office opened in 1896. While the community is gone, the present day location for Promise is 3,590 feet [1,094 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Promise is about ¾ mile [or ~1 km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Promise was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time Promise would have been located in the (541) and (458)<4> area codes.
