While we don't have a date for the founding of Irrigon, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1903.

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Irrigon had an population of 1,790 people. This is a decrease of 1.97% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 5.17% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Irrigon had a population of 1,826 people (which is 16.34% of the total population of Morrow County). This makes Irrigon the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Irrigon represents 0.05% of the total population of Oregon (which has 3,831,074 people), making it the state's 125th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,826 people, the population of Irrigon increased 7.29% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,702 people).

We originally found mention of Irrigon in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Irrigon was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Irrigon post office opened in 1903.

We also found Irrigon mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (June 1939).
