While we don't have a date for the founding of Humboldt Basin, you might consider that their post office opened in 1869. While the community is gone, the present day location for Humboldt Basin is 5,010 feet [1,527 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Humboldt Basin is about 1 mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level.
