At the time of the 2010 Census, Gervais had a population of 2,464 people. This makes Gervais the county's 11th most populous community.

The population of Gervais represents 0.06% of the population of Oregon (which has 3,831,074 people), making it the state's 105th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,464 people, the population of Gervais increased 22.65% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 2,009 people).

We originally found mention of Gervais in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Gervais was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Gervais post office opened in 1871.

We also found Gervais in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
