Columbia County was founded in 1854 and was created by taking area from Washington County.
From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Columbia had a population of 52,614 people. This is an increase of 6.61% since the last Census (which gave a population of 49,351 people in 2010).
At the time of the 2010 Census, Columbia represented 1.29% of the total population of Oregon.
