Welcome to Cornucopia ...

So far, we found very little information about Cornucopia. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Cornucopia would have been located within present day Baker County<2>.



Cornucopia was established in 1886.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Cornucopia is 4,730 feet [1,442 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Cornucopia is about ¾ mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Cornucopia was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

Note: If you travel east from Cornucopia (for example, toward New Meadows (ID)), you will leave Pacific Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT).

Cornucopia would have been located in the (541) & (458)<4> area codes.

Adding Cornucopia to Our Gazetteer ...

We originally found mention of Cornucopia in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cornucopia was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Cornucopia post office opened in 1885.

We also found Cornucopia in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
