The Commemorative Quarter for Oregon

Do you know of Ajax ???

When we encounter a name that is new to us, we add it to our Gazetteer - that's the case with Ajax.

This entry has been created as a placeholder - we hope to develop more information in the future.

This entry could be in error. It might be that our source had a mis-print, was simply wrong or we made a transcription error while referencing it. We hope to learn more about Ajax in the future.

We found mention of Ajax as a post office, but can't determine its location - other than being located somewhere in Gilliam County, Oregon.

It's common that the post office is named the same as the community in which it's located (although that's not always case). In this case, we can't match this post office to any of the existing communities in our gazetteer.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Ajax, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1888.

Communities Also Named Ajax ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 10 communities that are also named Ajax - they are located in Kentucky, Louisiana, Ontario, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas (2), Utah, Virginia and West Virginia.
