Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Stillwater had an population of 50,223 people. This is an increase of 9.93% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 28.56% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Stillwater had a population of 45,688 people (which is 59.07% of the total population of Payne County). This makes Stillwater the county's most populous community.

The population of Stillwater represents 1.22% of the population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 10th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 45,688 people, the population of Stillwater increased 16.95% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 39,065 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Stillwater was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Stillwater post office opened in 1889.

We also found Stillwater in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
