While we don't have a date for the founding of Scraper, you might consider that their post office opened in 1912.

The origin (or the toponymy) of Scraper: Named for Captain Archibald Scraper (1819-1904), who served with the 2nd Regiment of the Indian Home Guard. (We found a mention that Archibald Scraper was not his actual name, but rather 'Scraper Sixkiller').

Scraper is 830 feet [253 m] above sea level.<2>.

We originally found mention of Scraper in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Scraper was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Scraper post office opened in 1912. The Scraper post office closed in 1934.
