Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Sapulpa had an population of 21,229 people. This is an increase of 3.33% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 10.76% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Sapulpa had a population of 20,544 people (or 29.36% of the total population of Creek County). This makes Sapulpa the county's most populous community.

The population of Sapulpa represents 0.55% of the total population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 21st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 20,544 people, the population of Sapulpa increased 7.19% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 19,166 people).

We originally found mention of Sapulpa in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sapulpa was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Sapulpa post office opened in 1889.

We also found Sapulpa on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Oklahoma (1911).
