Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Mounds had an population of 1,241 people. This is an increase of 6.25% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 7.63% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Mounds had a population of 1,168 people. This makes Mounds the county's 6th most populous community.

The population of Mounds represents 0.03% of the population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 206th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,168 people, the population of Mounds increased 1.3% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,153 people).

Adding Mounds to Our Gazetteer ...

We originally found mention of Mounds in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Mounds was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Mounds post office opened in 1898.

We also found Mounds on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Oklahoma (1911).
