Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Miami had an population of 13,096 people. This is a decrease of 3.49% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 4.44% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Miami had a population of 13,570 people (or 42.59% of the total population of Ottawa County). This makes Miami the county's most populous community.

The population of Miami represents 0.36% of the total population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 34th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 13,570 people, the population of Miami has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (with a count of 13,704 people).

We originally found mention of Miami in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Miami was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>
