At the time of the 2010 Census, New London had a population of 2,461 people. This makes New London the county's 3rd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for New London was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the New London post office opened in 1831.
