With a 2010 count of 118 people, the population of Kirby decreased 10.61% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 132 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Kirby was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Kirby post office opened in 1854.

We also found Kirby in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
