So far, we found very little information about Esto. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have a date for the founding of Esto, you might consider that their post office opened in 1890.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Esto is 1,180 feet [360 m] above sea level.<3>.

Adding Esto to Our Gazetteer ...

We originally found mention of Esto in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Esto was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Esto post office opened in 1890. The Esto post office closed in 1903.

However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now.
