So far, we found very little information about Anselm. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Anselm , we believe that it would have been located within present day Gallia County<2>.
While we don't have a date for the founding of Anselm, you might consider that their post office opened in 1850.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Anselm was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>
From that list, the Anselm post office opened in 1850.
We also found Anselm in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
