Unfortunately our sources aren't clear about the location of Rockaway Beach other than they indicate that Rockaway Beach would be found somewhere in Queens County, New York. From the Blevins / Hellbock List: The post office opened in 1858 and closed in 1859. Communities Also Named Rockaway Beach ...We found eight communities that share the name Rockaway Beach. Within New York, the name Rockaway Beach is unique. Beyond New York, we know of another eight communities that are located throughout in the United States.
