Queens County is one of the original counties of New York and was founded in 1683.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Queens had a population of 2,253,942 people. This is an increase of 1.04% since the last Census (which gave a population of 2,230,722 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Queens represented 11.51% of the total population of New York.
