At the time of the 2010 Census, Perry had a population of 3,673 people (which is 8.71% of the total population of Wyoming County). This makes Perry the county's 5th most populous community.

The population of Perry represents 0.02% of the total population of New York (which has 19,378,102 people), making it the state's 600th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 3,673 people, the population of Perry decreased 6.89% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 3,945 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Perry was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Perry post office opened in 1815.
