From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for North Java was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the North Java post office opened in 1845.

We also found North Java in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
