The community of White Plains is the Seat for Westchester County.

Westchester County is one of the original counties of New York and was founded in 1683.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Westchester had a population of 968,467 people. This is an increase of 2.04% since the last Census (which gave a population of 949,113 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Westchester represented 4.9% of the total population of New York.

    • The GenDisasters website specializes in newspaper articles about tragedies and disasters. While it makes interesting reading all by itself, it should be of special interest to genealogists and family historians looking for people who were either affected by or directly involved in such tragedies.
