The community of Schoharie is the Seat for Schoharie County.

Schoharie County was founded in 1795. Schoharie was created by taking area from Albany and Otsego Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Schoharie had a population of 31,052 people. This is a decrease of 5.18% since the last Census (which gave a population of 32,749 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Schoharie represented 0.17% of the total population of New York.

    • The GenDisasters website specializes in newspaper articles about tragedies and disasters. While it makes interesting reading all by itself, it should be of special interest to genealogists and family historians looking for people who were either affected by or directly involved in such tragedies.
