The community of Oswego is the Seat for Oswego County.
Oswego County was founded in 1816. Oswego was created by taking area from Oneida and Onondaga Counties.
From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Oswego had a population of 116,934 people. This is a decrease of 4.24% since the last Census (which gave a population of 122,109 people in 2010).
At the time of the 2010 Census, Oswego represented 0.63% of the total population of New York.
