So far, we found very little information about Starr. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Starr would have been located within present day Lander County<2>.


The location of Starr has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>


While we don't have a date for the founding of Starr, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1881.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Starr is 6,160 feet [1,878 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Starr is about 1¼ mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Starr was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Starr was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Starr post office opened in 1881.
