Welcome to Waldo ...So far, we found very little information about Waldo. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Waldo to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Waldo, please Contact Us. Waldo would have been located within present day Santa Fe County<2>. The location of Waldo has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Waldo, you might consider that their post office opened in 1919. While the community is gone, the present day location for Waldo is 5,630 feet [1,716 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Waldo is about 1 mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Waldo was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Waldo would have been located in the (505) area code.
