Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Vaughn had an population of 396 people. This is a decrease of 11.21% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 26.53% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Vaughn had a population of 446 people (which is 9.52% of the total population of Guadalupe County). This makes Vaughn the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Vaughn represents 0.02% of the total population of New Mexico (which has 2,059,179 people), making it the state's 77th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 446 people, the population of Vaughn decreased 17.25% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 539 people).

We originally found mention of Vaughn in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Vaughn was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Vaughn post office opened in 1907.

We also found Vaughn on a map titled Rand McNally Map of New Mexico (1920).
