While the community is gone, the present day location for Lanark is 4,160 feet [1,268 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Lanark is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Lanark was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel east from Lanark (for example, toward Vinton (TX)), you will soon leave Mountain Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).
