While our initial data about Lamy came from various goverment sources (GNIS, FIPS), we also found mention of Lamy in various books, maps and other sources. When we find a mention, a fact or snippet, we add that information to our Gazetter.

Lamy is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

The Lamy post office opened in 1881 and had closed by 1963.
