Welcome to Dayton ...So far, we found very little information about Dayton. While we don't have a date for the founding of Dayton, you might consider that their post office opened in 1903. When the people of Dayton referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Daytonian<3> While the community is gone, the present day location for Dayton is 3,370 feet [1,027 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Dayton is about ¾ mile [or ~1 km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Dayton was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel south from Dayton, you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).
