Welcome to Bursum ...

So far, we found very little information about Bursum. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Bursum to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Bursum - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Bursum, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Bursum , we believe that it would have been located within present day Catron County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Bursum, you might consider that their post office opened in 1904.

Time Zone: The area where Bursum was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

Adding Bursum to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Bursum was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Bursum post office opened in 1904.
