Welcome to Boaz ...

So far, we found very little information about Boaz. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Boaz to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Boaz, please Contact Us.


Boaz would have been located within present day Chaves County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Boaz, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1907.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Boaz is 4,100 feet [1,250 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Boaz is about ¾ mile [or 1¼ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Boaz was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

Note: If you leave Boaz and travel east, you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).

We originally found mention of Boaz in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Boaz was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

X2X - From that list, the Boaz post office opened in 1907.
