Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Thurston had an population of 139 people. This is an increase of 5.3% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 11.2% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Thurston had a population of 132 people. This makes Thurston the county's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 132 people, the population of Thurston increased 5.6% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 125 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Thurston was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Thurston post office opened in 1895.
