The village of Emerson is primarily located in Dixon County<1>. A portion of Emerson extends into Dakota County and Thurston County.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Emerson, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Emerson has a population of 792 people<3> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Emerson had an population of 792 people. This is a decrease of 5.71% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 3.06% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Emerson had a population of 840 people (which is 14% of the total population of Dixon County). This makes Emerson the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Emerson represents 0.05% of the total population of Nebraska (which has 1,826,341 people), making it the state's 138th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 840 people, the population of Emerson increased 2.82% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 817 people).
