Welcome to McCann ...

So far, we found very little information about McCann. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added McCann to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of McCann - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with McCann, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of McCann , we believe that it would have been located within present day Cherry County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of McCann, you might consider that their post office opened in 1879.

If McCann still existed, it would have been in the (402) & (531)<3> area codes.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 2 communities that are also named McCann - they are located in California and New Brunswick.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned McCann was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the McCann post office opened in 1879.

We also found McCann on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Nebraska (1895).
