At the time of the 2010 Census, Sheyenne had a population of 204 people (or 8.55% of the total population of Eddy County). This makes Sheyenne the county's 2nd most populous community.

We originally found mention of Sheyenne in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sheyenne was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Sheyenne post office opened in 1887.

We also found Sheyenne in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
