The Commemorative Quarter for North Dakota

Do you know of Norwegian ???

When we encounter a name that is new to us, we add it to our Gazetteer - that's the case with Norwegian.

This entry has been created as a placeholder - we hope to develop more information in the future.

This entry could be in error. It might be that our source had a mis-print, was simply wrong or we made a transcription error while referencing it. We hope to learn more about Norwegian in the future.

We found mention of Norwegian as a post office, but can't determine its location - other than being located somewhere in McIntosh County, North Dakota.

It's common that the post office is named the same as the community in which it's located (although that's not always case). In this case, we can't match this post office to any of the existing communities in our gazetteer.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Norwegian, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1890.

Communities Also Named Norwegian ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found another community named Norwegian - it's located in Wisconsin.

Adding Norwegian to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Norwegian was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

From that list, the Norwegian post office opened in 1890.

We also found Norwegian in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
