Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, LaMoure had an population of 888 people. This is a decrease of 0.11% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 5.93% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, LaMoure had a population of 889 people (or 21.48% of the total population of LaMoure County). This makes LaMoure the county's most populous community.

The population of LaMoure represents 0.13% of the population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 72nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 889 people, the population of LaMoure decreased 5.83% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 944 people).
