At the time of the 2010 Census, Harvey had a population of 1,783 people (which is 42.53% of the total population of Wells County). This makes Harvey the county's most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Harvey was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Harvey post office opened in 1893.

We also found Harvey on a map titled Rand McNally Map of North Dakota (1897).
