At the time of the 2010 Census, Devils Lake had a population of 7,141 people (which is 62.36% of the total population of Ramsey County). This makes Devils Lake the county's most populous community.

The population of Devils Lake represents 1.06% of the total population of North Dakota (which has 672,591 people), making it the state's 11th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 7,141 people, the population of Devils Lake decreased 1.12% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 7,222 people).
