At the time of the 2010 Census, Davidson had a population of 10,944 people. This makes Davidson the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Davidson represents 0.11% of the population of North Carolina (which has 9,535,483 people), making it the state's 78th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 10,944 people, the population of Davidson increased 53.3% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 7,139 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Davidson was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

From that list, the Davidson post office opened in 1891.

We also found Davidson in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
