The community of Concord is the Seat for Cabarrus County.

Cabarrus County was founded in 1792 and was created by taking area from Mecklenburg County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Cabarrus had a population of 216,453 people. This is an increase of 21.22% since the last Census (which gave a population of 178,562 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Cabarrus represented 1.87% of the total population of North Carolina.
