Welcome to Smead ...So far, we found very little information about Smead. While we don't have a date for the founding of Smead, you might consider that their post office opened in 1891. While the community is gone, the present day location for Smead is 2,180 feet [664 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Smead is about ½ mile above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Smead was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel south from Smead (for example, toward Osburn (ID)), you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT).
