Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Lima had an population of 228 people. This is an increase of 3.17% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 5.79% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Lima had a population of 221 people. This makes Lima the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Lima represents 0.02% of the population of Montana (which has 989,415 people), making it the state's 103rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 221 people, the population of Lima decreased 8.68% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 242 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention that we've found for Lima was the Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
