Time Zone: Granite County lies in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Philipsburg is the Seat for Granite County.

Granite County was founded in 1893. Granite was created by taking area from Deer Lodge and Missoula Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Granite had a population of 3,335 people. This is an increase of 8.31% since the last Census (which gave a population of 3,079 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Granite represented 0.31% of the total population of Montana.
