Granite County was founded in 1893. Granite was created by taking area from Deer Lodge and Missoula Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Granite had a population of 3,335 people. This is an increase of 8.31% since the last Census (which gave a population of 3,079 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Granite represented 0.31% of the total population of Montana.
