How Far From Waltonia to ...
We spend a lot of time looking through Gazetteers, Almanacs & Directories that were published in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the Gazetteers include the distance from a community such as Waltonia to various places of note, such as the White House.
With a nod to our favorite Gazetteers and using the location of where the historic<4> community of Waltonia once stood, the straight-line distance beginning in Waltonia and extending to:
- Indianola, which is the Seat of Sunflower County, lies just to the South.
- Jackson, which is the State Capital of Mississippi, lies 88 miles [141.6 km]<1> to the south southeast (SSE). If you could drive a straight line from Waltonia to Jackson, with an average speed<5>of 63 miles [101.4 km] per hour, it would take less than two hours to make the trip.
