At the time of the 2010 Census, Pascagoula had a population of 22,392 people (or 16.06% of the total population of Jackson County). This makes Pascagoula the county's most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Pascagoula was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Pascagoula post office opened in 1829.

We also found Pascagoula in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
